The performances ranged from Gregorian hip-hop and sassy jazz to thought-provoking modern, and sweet contemporary pieces. The range of dancers all had one thing in common - their passion. What's so fun for me, as a dancer and photographer, is that if I can't be on stage, I can feed off of the energy photographing the event. And boy, I haven't seen such a cumulative joy for dance and a fire for performing on one stage in a long time.
Guest schools included Norman North, Putnam City North, Harding Fine Arts, Bishop McGuiness, and Capitol Hill. Many of the directors of these public school dance programs are previous students from UCO, as the university boasts the first state-certified dance education program.
