How many years have you been in business?
This is my 4th wedding season!
What sets you apart from other wedding photographers?
I meet with my brides so I have a great understanding not only their expectations for their wedding day coverage, but also so I can get to know their personality & mannerisms. This allows me to show off the couple on the wedding day through my posing! There is no one-size-fits-all when it comes to photographing a wedding day, and each wedding is completely unique.
I meet with all of my brides at least twice before their wedding day! We create a custom timeline, formal shot list, and make sure that the bride feels at ease during her special day. Being able to go off of a written family formal list, or having notes to make sure to get the heirloom handkerchief from Great Great Grandma puts the couple at ease that their full day will be captured beautifully and accurately.
What's the *must have* shot for a bride + groom?
The bride & groom portraits! Doing a first look before the ceremony allows plenty of time for the bride & groom to have their special moment together. This also allows for a shorter portrait list after the ceremony so they can celebrate at their reception faster!
Tell us your favorite part about your business.
I love creating relationships with my couples, seeing their anniversary posts, helping create their wedding albums for their kids to look at, and giving them the memories to share for generations.
Tell us about your favorite wedding memory?
One of my brides, who was a sorority sister and housemate in college, had her fall brunch wedding on her family ranch. Her dad, groom, and brother make the backyard the ceremony location with a tiered hill and handmade quilts from their family on each seat. They also wired their barn for electricity for the reception, and it was gorgeous. Magical really. The most poignant moment was when the bride & dad had a first look before the ceremony. A very stoic man, on his family land, just saw his daughter in the wedding dress the mother of the bride made for her. He cried, Mom cried, I cried. It was such beautiful moment of joy, letting go, and celebrating their daughter moving on to the next stage of her life. I'm crying just writing about it! This is why I tell all my brides I don't wear mascara & eye liner on their wedding days. I will bawl at least once.
